The New Geopolitics of Research

On October 28, 2025, at 11:00, the Polytechnic City of Innovation (UPV) will host a hybrid side event of the UPV Innovation Forum: The New Geopolitics of Research. The session will begin with a live recording of the award-winning podcast No es el fin del mundo by El Orden Mundial, followed by a high-level roundtable with leading voices from science, policy, business, and geostrategy.

The event will explore how the changing global geopolitical landscape—rising technological sovereignty concerns, restricted international collaborations, and increased demand for defense research—is reshaping the role and priorities of research.

UPV Innovation aims to foster public debate on these critical issues, reflecting on the purpose and beneficiaries of research and innovation in today’s shifting context.
